A Christmas Story About Making Room for Someone Else

Christmas stories often sparkle with lights, snow and surprises. But the moments that stay with us are not always the grand ones. Sometimes they are as simple as noticing someone who feels left out, or finding a place for one more person at the table.

That idea sits at the heart of Mavzi’s Christmas Wish, an illustrated Quivori picture book planned for release on 1 December 2026.

Why small moments matter in a Christmas story

Children notice more than we sometimes expect. A character’s expression, an empty space or a quiet act of kindness can prompt a question long after the story is finished.

That is one reason picture books are lovely to share. The words carry the story, while the illustrations invite children to linger, look again and spot things the grown-ups missed.

Meet Mavzi at Christmas

Mavzi is a small orange character with two tiny white wings. In the world of Quivori, even a little character can find himself at the centre of a big adventure.

Mavzi’s Christmas Wish brings that world into a festive setting, with friendship, warmth and making room for others woven through the story. It is written for younger children, around ages 3–7, and intended to be enjoyed together.

A story to talk about, if you want to

After reading, you might ask your child which character they would invite to a Christmas gathering. Or you might simply turn back to a favourite illustration and enjoy it once more. A story doesn’t need a lesson at the end to mean something.

There is room for laughter at Christmas, and room for quieter feelings too. Sometimes the most generous thing we can offer is to make someone feel welcome.
